Active Citizens Facilitate Housing for People

Arthik Anusandhan Kendra has been actively working with villagers, fostering leadership among active citizens to ensure fair access to government schemes. One such victory came when villagers stood up for housing allocation fairness in Matihara Gram Panchayat.

The Gram Pradhan Itri Prasad had prepared a list of beneficiaries from Sagara and Matihara villages but initially allocated houses only to residents of Matihara. Concerned by this inequity, active citizens Dinesh Kumar, Baki Lal, Ayodhya Prasad, and Rakesh Kumar rallied the villagers and objected to the exclusion of families in Sagara.

Despite repeated assurances that Sagara would receive allocations later, the Pradhan delayed action. Determined to secure rightful housing for all, the villagers persisted, meeting with the Pradhan multiple times. Their unwavering resolve finally paid off—housing allocations were issued to 14 eligible families in Sagara, bringing relief and joy to the community.

Inspired by this success, villagers have now resolved to continue their collective efforts to ensure that every household in need receives proper housing. This achievement underscores how community-driven advocacy, with AAK’s guidance, is empowering people to claim their rights and drive meaningful change.
